DURHAM HISTORICAL SOCIETY presents:
Dan Graham, Pennsylvania iron historian and author, will
discuss the early Colonial iron industry of Pennsylvania and
how Durham Furnace was a part of it.  The presentation will
include how iron was made and the differences between
bloomeries, furnaces and forges.  The talk will also include an
overview of Durham Furnace’s early history and present
information on ironmaster and Declaration of Independence
signer, George Taylor.

You may be aware of the advances being made on the Durham Mill restoration. Here’s a chance to talk to the Society’s Directors and find out what else is on their agenda. Also, we are interested in any input you may have on what else you’d like to see the Society doing. More presentations/programs? More hands-on workshops? Continued efforts on restoring the mill itself? Expansion of the museum? Maybe you have other ideas. In any event, you are invited to join the Directors on Sunday, June 9th in the Durham Mill at 2:00 for a general open discussion

 For those of you who’d like to tour the mill, that option will be available. Looking forward to seeing you at the mill on Sunday.
