2019 Annual Membership Meeting
Dear Fellow Durham Historical Society Members, You are hereby invited to our 2019 Annual Membership Meeting to be held in the Durham Township Meeting Room, 215 Old Furnace Road, Durham, PA at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. (This meeting replaces our regular November meeting.) This year, the membership will elect three directors to three year terms. Traditional Bookmaking
Learn traditional styles of bookmaking by joining local paper artist, Valerie Martz, to customize and create your own hard-bound everyday journal and miniature hand-stitched signature mini-book. Materials and tools provided. Class will be held in the historic Durham Mill on November 23d from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Class limited to ten students. Free mill tour provided following the class. Walk in Penn’s Woods
The Durham Township Environmental Advisory Council invites you to attend its 3rd Annual Walk in Penn’s Woods in partnership with the Cooks Creek Watershed Association and The Durham Historical Society! Historic Deed Book Restoration Project
Durham Historical Society is proud to announce that our guest speaker on Sunday, August 25th will be Robin Robinson, Bucks County Recorder of Deeds. Robin took office in January, 2018, and soon discovered over 500 historic deed books deteriorating in a county warehouse. She created the Historic Deed Book Restoration Project, attracted contributions from local businesses and individuals and proceeded to get the books restored to their former condition.
