Mission
Statement
To study and preserve the history of Durham Township, Bucks County,
Pennsylvania, to educate the general public on the significant role played
by the township
and its residents in the development of the United States of America during
the colonial period, the Revolutionary War and thereafter, and to insure
that this
history is not forgotten.
Organization description:The Durham Historical Society is
a corporation organized for educational purposes within the meaning of Section
501 ( c ) ( 3 ) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 as amended and as conferred
upon the Corporation by the Pennsylvania Non-Profit Corporation law of 1988
as amended. It is a membership corporation which is managed by an executive
board (Directors) who are voted in by its members and fixed in number by
its by-laws. The Board nominates its President, Vice President, Secretary,
and Treasurer. No director or officer receives any remuneration of any type
for the services that are rendered. Directors serve for a three year staggered
period and Officers for a one year fiscal period.
